Improving Local Authority Building Control Services survey

Lambeth Council want to hear from anyone who works, or has previously worked at a Local Authority Building Control service.

As part of their Local Digital Fund project, they are exploring what works and what doesn’t work in the existing system for Local Authority Building Control services to inform their future direction.

Housing Repairs Online are finalists for a UK IT Industry Award!

Members of the project team recently attended the UK IT Industry Awards, as Housing Repairs Online was chosen as a finalist in the User Experience (UX) Project of the Year category.

The awards are designed to celebrate and promote the organisations, projects, technologies, and individuals who continue to help shape the future of IT, the technology industry and digital society.

Well done to the team for being the only local authority-led project to reach the shortlist in any category!

8th Impact Awards 2024

Digital Leaders are calling for entries and nominations for the 8th Impact Awards, across all aspects of Tech for Good.

The Impact Awards celebrate the digital technology innovations that improve people’s lives and the world around us. The awards are open to any person, business, government or non-profit creating or delivering digital products or services for social impact. If you win you will be awarded a trophy and gain the opportunity to promote yourself to the DigiLeaders community.

There are 12 categories this year so please take a look and submit an entry or nomination.

Nominations close on 19 January and the awards are taking place in March.

Public Sector Innovation Week - Call for talks

Public Sector Innovation Week will be held virtually and in-person from 11 to 15 March 2024. Digital Leaders invites you to take part in the UK’s national week promoting innovation across the public sector by submitting an idea for a talk.

LGA Digitalisation: Leadership Essentials (new dates added)

The LGA is holding training in Leeds for councillors with an interest in cyber, digital and technology. The programme aims to demystify digitalisation for those new to this area and those wanting to build their existing knowledge.

Attendance, accommodation, meals and tuition for this event will be fully subsidised and will take place in Leeds.

LGA Cyber, Digital and Technology workshops

The LGA’s Cyber, Digital and Technology team are arranging a series of workshops to understand more about Cyber, Digital, Data, and Technology (CDDAT) skill needs in key council services.

They would love Heads of Service in Adult Social Care, Children’s Services, Planning, Environmental Services, and Public Health to attend.

Workshops will take place in early December 2023. To express an interest, please email Priya.thethi@local.gov.uk.
